Welcome to the home page for the Rockford Amateur Astronomers. We are a group of amateur astronomers based in Rockford, IL
Our mission is to share our love and knowledge of astronomy with the community and help them better understand the fascinating realms of our universe.
Our members are knowledgeable in a wide variety of fields that vary from astrophotography to cosmology or just simply looking at what lies beyond our earth.
Interested in learning more about us and what we do? Well your invited to join us at our Public Viewing Nights held every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month and best of all it's FREE ("Although donations are greatly appreciated").

| RAA News: Important bill up for vote in Cook County! |
 The "Starlight Ordinance" bill will be coming up for vote on Feb 1st or 2nd in Cook County IL. It's a lighting ordinance bill, the first of it's kind in Cook County, to help cut light polution and cost's.
